Factor library
Emission factors
The sourced factor set behind Prime's inventory — current NGER 2026, NGA 2025, NABERS v2026.2 and IPCC AR6, versioned by reporting year with the source recorded against every factor.
Prime's major likely Scope 1 sources are diesel and petrol company vehicles, diesel generators and plant, LPG where used, natural gas at controlled facilities, refrigerant leakage from Prime-owned or controlled equipment, and potentially SF₆ losses where Prime owns, controls or is responsible for gas-insulated electrical equipment.
Stationary fuels — Scope 1
Source: NGER Determination, Schedule 1 Parts 2 & 3 (current 1 July 2026)
| Source | Energy factor | Combined EF | Practical Scope 1 factor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Petrol — generator/stationary | 34.2 GJ/kL | 67.8 kg CO₂-e/GJ | 2.3188 kg CO₂-e/L |
| Diesel — generator/plant | 38.6 GJ/kL | 70.2 | 2.7097 kg CO₂-e/L |
| LPG — stationary | 25.7 GJ/kL | 60.6 | 1.5574 kg CO₂-e/L |
| Natural gas — pipeline | 0.0393 GJ/m³ | 51.53 | 2.0251 kg CO₂-e/m³ |
| Petroleum lubricating oils* | 38.8 GJ/kL | 13.9 | 0.5393 kg CO₂-e/L |
Lubricating-oil emissions require the applicable consumption/oxidation methodology — do not treat every litre purchased as fully emitted.
Fleet — post-2004 cars & light commercials (Scope 1)

| Fuel | Scope 1 factor |
|---|---|
| Petrol | 2.3126 kg CO₂-e/L |
| Diesel | 2.7178 kg CO₂-e/L |
| LPG | 1.5982 kg CO₂-e/L |
Store vehicle type + fuel + model year/emissions standard + litres, rather than one generic diesel factor for everything.

|---|---|
| Euro VI or higher | 2.7294 |
| Euro V | 2.7294 |

SF₆ — gas-insulated switchgear and circuit breakers
Default annual leakage rate
0.89% of gas charge per year

AR6 GWP100 for SF₆
25,200 kg CO₂-e per kg
Source: IPCC AR6 Working Group I, Chapter 7 — 1 kg SF₆ lost = 25.2 t CO₂-e
AASB S2 allows a factor already expressed in CO₂-e to be used as published, but where Prime converts a physical mass of gas to CO₂-e itself, the latest IPCC 100-year GWP (AR6) is required. Maintain an SF₆ register wherever Prime handles gas-filled HV equipment.
Attribution depends on the organisational and control boundary — client-owned equipment does not become Prime Scope 1 merely because Prime worked on it.
Indicative annual refrigerant leakage rates
Source: NGA 2025 workbook
| Equipment | Indicative leakage |
|---|---|
| Transport refrigeration | 15.7% |
| Domestic split A/C | 3.5% |
| Domestic packaged A/C | 2.5% |
| Light vehicle A/C | 6.7% |
| Heavy vehicle A/C | 10.8% |
NGA 2025 refrigerant GWPs are AR5. Where Prime converts a raw gas quantity to CO₂-e itself, AASB S2 requires AR6 GWP100. Record refrigerant type + kg charge + actual refill/loss and apply AR6.
